Thank you Mountain Man, perhaps I should have expounded more...I meant Senator Ted Kennedy...it was his guilt for drowning his mistress (I believe her name was Mary Jo Kopechne) that drove him to be a friend to all illegals in order to clear his conscience. Ted Kennedy pushed nearly every amnesty ever brought up in Congress or the Senate...

Non-believer, I agree with the context of your post but the prior amnesty agreement was done under Reagan, not Kennedy. All of it was implemented EXCEPT the condition that the borders would be sealed after the amnesty was granted. That still has not been done, so we should complete that project prior to starting into another 'comprehensive' plan.

1st-seal the border, period! Nothing else until this step is complete. 2nd_those here illegally either need to voluntarily leave the country or register/apply for legal residency and receive a background check verifying who they legally are. 3rd no felons or major misdemeanors on the record would allow them to apply for legal residency. 4th no shortcut to citizenship, get at the end of the line and apply within our current laws 5th redefine/clarify the 14th Amendment so that simply being born on US soil does not guarantee automatic US citizenship. 6th crack down on employers who use those here illegally for cheap labor.

I think it's hilarious that politician's call our immigration system "broken"...it's not "broken"...it's simply never been enforced! Ever since Kennedy's amnesty of 1986, illegals come and go at will in this country...WHY? The "government" has no desire to enforce the border, especially since the U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants to help drive down wages. Illegals in this country are paid under the table, seldom get taxed via their phony social security cards, get welfare, free health care and schooling and send the majority of their pay back home.

"Broken"? Hardly...the government continues to simply look the other way. Until there are no more illegals here, our government (President, Homeland Security, Senators, Congressmen and dozens of illegal's support groups like LaRaza) will continue to expound the system is "broken" and continue to look for ways to legalize them.

My letter to Senators Udall and Bennett today.

Though a Democrat, I am a moderately conservative one who loves his country. Passage of the bill to block Homeland Security from delaying deportation of illegal immigrants was a good move. The U S. is now almost bankrupt from fighting two phony misguided wars that were triggered when - according to U S intel and military agents - foreigners murdered 3,000 Americans by bringing down a high rise office complex of three or more buildings with burning jet fuel. (I am not making up the burning jet fuel causing the towers and even Building 7 demolition, that is the official report by intel and military elites now retiring on fat pensions for their duplicity..)

That one act of alleged foreign savagery should have been enough to seal the borders and stop giving anyone in the world free passage into the country.

So many illegals are in our prisons, so many good lawmen have been killed by these foreign invaders. I just watched the movie Savages, which again details the brutal criminal behavior of Mexican criminals - which our open borders allow into our country. Along with the Russian mobsters who came into Chicago after the Justice Dept. rounded up the Italian mobsters.

Enough is enough. We have tens of millions of unemployed Americans to put back to work. We don't need any more cheap labor. Silicon Valley can go without foreign whiz nerds.

The total lack of border security did not screen out who could and could not get in. Now, you in Congress are demanding all Americans lose their freedom and Constitutional rights because anyone was allowed in. Citizenship is not the answer. Illegals are home invaders and they have and are denying us the use of our property.

The liberals told two generations of U S women to have only two children - to preserve U S land, water and air resources. We have achieved that zero growth rate for environmental stability. But unrestrained illegal immigration is destroying our environmental quality as illegal fueled population growth consumes more land, water and resources that American women tried to conserve through a zero population growth target..

On our continent the real racism originates in Marxist Mexico, which has the highest per capita number of millionaires in the world. The blue dog socialists there refuse to tax themselves to create healthcare and opportunity for Indian blooded Mexicans and are instead deporting them to the US.

This mindless charade has gone on long enough. Let the foreigners dream of a new future where they come from - and make these foreign leaders do the responsible thing and take care of their own.

Many signatures will turn out to be invalid (not registered voters, used wrong address, signed with different name than the one registered under, etc) and will be tossed out. A good petition drive will yield a 30-50% surplus to account for invalid signatures. In my opinion, the petition will fail and there will be no recall election...which is a good thing, because most Coloradans support the kind of reasonable gun control measures Giron voted for, and a recall election will only encourage gun extremists.

I grew up on Cornell side of the open space in the early 70's and 80's and there were more kids in Hampden Heights back then than now so I don't understand the argument for more school space. We called the area in debate simply 'the field' and it provided the neighborhood kids outdoor adventures that shaped each of in a positive manner. We would leave our house early each summer morning and return home at night. It was our summer camp and retreat and the best part of growing up in South East Denver. I watched every building on Havana including the surrounding condos and most recent 'racetrack bike path' encroach into this area. Each time it broke my heart to watch this slice of wilderness get chewed up acre by acre and foot by foot. I am sure if HH Neighbor had experienced the same childhood that we did on 'the field' he/she would be more upset about the trash than trash talking.

Most legal immigrants coming to the USA are already from second and third world countries and many are grossly uneducated and have attitudes that don't align with "American culture." The real question for America is "why?" This is not 1900 any more.

Don't you dare question the morals of any person who signed these petitions, they are excercising their constitutional right to recall a representative, who they feel has let them down. I don't care if a hundred sandy hooks happened, that has nothing to do with defending your constitutional rights.
You want to question the morals of people, then go question the morals of those that allow so many inner city youth to kill one another all the time and don't lift a finger to do a thing about it, then have the gall to come to our state and talk about morals.
